“Do remember to come and watch my performance tomorrow on time, ok? My younger brother reminded me last night.
“OK, I promise.” I replied.
Today, I got off work much earlier than before and took the bus to my younger brother’s school. At the gate of the school, I saw that the whole school was decorated to be full of vitality. And each child I came across was dressed with their beautiful party dresses for their performance.
“Attention, please. The party will begin in five minutes, please get ready in the activity hall.” Words came from the loudspeaker. I faster my step and came to the hall to see the performance.
Standing among the children with beautiful and lovely party dresses on, my brother was not eye-catching. However, I found him at my first sight as always. After he saw me, he seemed to perform with more effort.
The party went on happily. And I can feel that all the children enjoyed this party very much and me too. Their naïve and pure performance made me re-experienced my childhood once again.
After the party, my brother went home together with me. On the way home, he said, “It has been a long time since I saw you were so relaxed and happy. How’s the party?”
“It’s really great. And it made me acted like a child during the party. That feeling is fantastic.” I said.
“How’s your party for Children’s Day looked like?” My brother asked.
“At that time, we did not have pretty party dresses like you do now and there were no special decoration for celebrating our Children’s Day. We would gather on the playground to make the performance and celebrate the day. Though with the simplest surroundings, we would also enjoy the day very much. Children wouldn’t pay much attention to the decoration; it is the activities and performance that did count, right?” I said.
My brother nodded and said, ‘Yes, that’s why children are much happier than you adults. Children would be satisfied with the simplest happiness.”
